A new awareness-raising campaign against domestic violence aims to change attitudes amongst communities in northeastern Syria.
The initiative by the Fraternity Foundation for Human Rights focuses on several cities in the al-Hassakah area, with seminars, drama workshops and poster campaigns promoting the concept of women’s rights. As well as domestic violence, the campaign is tackling issues such as so-called honour killing, early and forced marriage as well as lack of access to education, particularly in rural areas.
Events were held in cities including Qamishli, al-Hasakah and Ras al-Ayn.
